The story begins well before Team Crowbar actually left town. In the course of researching an obscure location I discovered that my very own university library contained a map that would lead us there.

In the library stacks I combed the mining periodicals, issue 17 would lead us to our destination. Fourteen, fifteen I counted, sixteen, eighteen...

I brought a 4lb bag of tortilla chips. What does it mean?

What?!?! I recounted, I checked the surrounding shelves, I pulled down every book on the shelf, I looked over and under, I consulted the librarians. The only reasonable conclusion? Issue 17 was gone, no stolen; the only missing issue of this particular journal. The librarian suggested that perhaps the non-circulating item was wrongly borrowed by a fellow classmate. I looked her in the eye and insisted "No, this is treasure hunting, the maps were stolen." She politely inquired if I was affiliated with the University.

Loyal reader, the story does not end here. Team Crowbar researchers pulled out every stop, called every resource into action. Weeks later, the maps had been acquired. We were in business once again.

Man Vs. Machine

What shameless crook would be brazen enough to spoil the University library, a bastion of free thought, and ideas? And what lay ahead for Team Crowbar? What unscrupulous mercenary now sought to thwart our goals? With those sinister thoughts we set off into the night to follow our map . . . and find some answers.
